The leadership team at tatte bakery & cafe is undergoing a change. The restaurant’s new owners, Ame and Sergey, have come on board as the next generation of leaders. The former was previously the Assistant Director of Operations for the Bakery & Retail division, and was recently promoted to Director of Operations for the entire company. Her new position will focus on leading projects to move the brand forward.
Ame spent her career at tatte bakery & cafe
Ame has spent the past three decades in the hospitality industry, most recently working for BJ’s Restaurants as Senior Vice President of Operations Services and Talent. Prior to joining BJ’s, she worked for Pei Wei and the Lemonade Restaurant Group.
Ame’s career has included many positions in the restaurant industry, from management to sales and marketing. Despite her love of food, she prefers to share it with more people. While working for the founders of BJ’s Restaurants in Brea, CA, she found that she had a knack for making things run smoothly.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe began as a pop-up vendor at a local farmers market and has since expanded to eight locations. In addition to serving delicious baked goods, the cafe has a wide range of handcrafted beverages. These include traditional cafe drinks and fresh juices.
Sergey joined the team in 2017
A native of Russia, Sergey joined the team at Tatte bakery & cafe in 2017. His passion for great food and great coffee led him to the role of Culinary Director, where he was responsible for operations in all cafe kitchens. During this time, he introduced strong systems and made significant changes to the cafe’s savory operations. Today, he is responsible for food & beverage, and he is excited to share his passion for food with the entire team.

Eric joined the team in 2017
Eric Ross joined the team at Tatte in February 2017 as the Culinary Director. He worked across the cafe’s kitchens, implementing systems and making changes to improve savory operations. Today, he leads the Food & Beverage team and is thrilled to share his love of food and the art of making it.
Tatte has expanded its presence in Boston with the signing of a lease for a retail space in a new development in the Fenway. The 1350 Boylston building is slated to feature more than 200 apartments when it opens later this year. The developers, Skanska USA, have reserved a portion of the ground floor for retail. The Tatte Bakery will occupy 2,900 square feet of the space.
Chuck joined the team in 2018
As President of Tatte, Chuck brings over twenty years of experience leading a diverse team. In his most recent role, he oversaw operations in Boston and Washington, DC. His diverse background includes leadership roles at Panera Bread and International Dairy Queen, and he has also served as a consultant for Bain & Company.
Tatte is a rapidly expanding business in Boston. Currently, the business operates 15 locations in the Boston area, with two more locations in Washington, D.C., opening this fall. Founder Tzurit Or has been considering stepping down for the past year, and he recently wrote letters to employees outlining his plans. The company plans to announce a new CEO soon.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe has plans to expand to two locations on the campus of Northeastern University. It is also planning to open a location in the Seaport District later this year. The company currently has locations in Beacon Hill and Back Bay, in Cambridge’s Kendall Square, and in Brookline and Harvard Square.
Tzurit Or, founder of Tatte, started her business 15 years ago in her home kitchen. She began selling her creations at local farmers’ markets and eventually opened the first brick-and-mortar location in Brookline, MA. Her vision is to create a place where people can find a sense of community through food.
Brendan joined the team in 2019
Brendan joined the Tatte team in 2019. Previously, he served as the General Manager of a multi-unit restaurant builder in Massachusetts. After seeing Tatte’s vision, he decided to join the team and support its growth. Brendan grew up on the south shore of Massachusetts and grew up knowing that he would have a career in the building and construction industry. His father and grandfather both worked in the industry. He went to college and earned his MBA in construction management.
Since opening in 2016, Tatte has expanded into new neighborhoods. Currently, it has locations in Brookline and Cambridge. In addition, it has plans to open a second location in Washington, D.C. It is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and has plans to open more locations in the future.
Michael Gregoire built his fast-casual empire by opening Tatte Bakery in 2001. He later sold the company for $7.5 billion. His vision is to open a Tatte on every city block. While he is an accomplished restaurant executive, he also has nighttime dreams about gluten.
